DEBATE TIME! IS INFORMATION LITERACY A FAD AND A WASTE OF TIME? Information literacy   involves recognizing when information is needed and being able to efficiently locate, accurately evaluate, effectively use, and clearly communicate information in various formats. For me, it is not a fad and a waste of time because why is it a waste of time when you gain information and knowledge? In our life, we have to keep on learning and experiencing something new. That's how we will grow and survive in this world. Both teams defended their side very well. The affirmative team said that, yes, it is a waste of time because you have your common sense. Nowadays, people can easily communicate and gain information by more kinds of media tools such as mobile phones and computers because of the development of technology.  That's what I thought.  I remembered someone from the Traditional Media team when the debate started, he said that "Traditional media started it all. Without it, there will be no New Media...
