DATI (dance interpretation)

DATI November 12, 2018 The song "DATI" was composed by Thyro Alfaro and Yumi Lacsamana who won the PhilPop 2013 winning song which earned for them a grand prize of P1 million. Sam Concepcion, Tippy dos Santos and Quest interpreted the award-winning song and made a music video of the song. Their song, "Dati," is a throwback to the good old days of a first romance and how, in many ways, some things never change. In our MIL Class, we were tasked to show our interpretation about the song through dancing. We were all excited for this activity since this is a new challenge for us. However, due to lack of time, we felt pressured and nervous because maybe we can't perform well. But my group mates and I really work hard to come up with a good dance interpretation. Throughout our practice and the performance, I realized that the song really deserves the title. It really is an "award-winning" song. The song gives a heart-warming message to everyone and

DEBATE TIME! IS INFORMATION LITERACY A FAD AND A WASTE OF TIME? Information literacy   involves recognizing when information is needed and being able to efficiently locate, accurately evaluate, effectively use, and clearly communicate information in various formats. For me, it is not a fad and a waste of time because why is it a waste of time when you gain information and knowledge? In our life, we have to keep on learning and experiencing something new. That's how we will grow and survive in this world. Both teams defended their side very well. The affirmative team said that, yes, it is a waste of time because you have your common sense. All started with common sense. As one of the opposing team, I get their point that it all started with common sense. Because how can you learn something if you dont have common sense, right? However, I still believe that yes, we have common sense, but it should not limit ourselves in gaining and learning more informations. And we

FACIAL MESSAGE RELAY The objective of this game is to pass on the correct message to the last person in line. Our class was divided into three groups.  Mechanics of the game:  The value of each facial gesture is as follows: a) Raising the eyebrows = 1,000 b) Nose movement = 100 c) Kiss motion = 10 d) Wink  = 1 Instruct the first people in the line to relay a certain numerical value using the designated facial gestures only. For instance, if the value is 1,295, the participants must relay 1 raising the eyebrows, 2 nose movements, 9 kissing motions, and 5 winks. Each participant must face away from the first person in each line. Once a person has been tapped, he/she must focus on the facial message relayed, and pass it on to the next person. Once the message has been successfully passed to the last person in line, the last person will write the value on a piece of paper. The teams to relay the corr

TRADITIONAL MEDIA VS. NEW MEDIA & CONTROLLED MEDIA VS. FREE MEDIA THE FIRST DEBATE When Sir Haren, our Media and Information Literacy teacher, divided our class into 4 teams. He told us to prepare for debate: Traditional Media vs. New Media & Controlled Media vs. Free Media. Then this thought pop up in my mind: Why do we still have the traditional media and new media debate? In my own opinion, it's obvious that the new media will win. Why? because in the current age of technological advances, it seems that traditional media is facing competition from ever-expanding new forms of media. Nowadays, people can easily communicate and gain information by more kinds of media tools such as mobile phones and computers because of the development of technology.  That's what I thought.  I remembered someone from the Traditional Media team when the debate started, he said that "Traditional media started it all. Without it, there will be no New Media

Traditional VS. New Age Have you heard about " The Worlds Hardest Game"? If not, check it out when you have a free time! If yes, I already knew how you felt when playing that game. It is literally the hardest online game that I ever played! During our MIL Class, we had two different activities. the first one is to spot 12 differences in each picture, and the second one is what I am telling you to try and play it. The "spot the differences" activity is by group, we have 3 members in each group, in a total of 7 groups. The mechanics of the game is just to find the 12 differences in each picture, then the first one who will finish early will receive additional 5 points. And the winning group will have the chance to evaluate other groups in our next activities. So, I and my groupmates helped each other and our strategy is each of us will have one picture each. Then if we can't find the differences anymore, we will switch pictures. Unfortunately

MIL + Grapevine Communication  Good Day, Everyone!  Today, I'm going to share about the things that I have learned from our MIL class and the Venn Diagram that I made for our activity which includes pieces of information that I gained from different resources about the Differences and Similarities of Media and Information Literacy.  WHAT IS MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY? M edia and Information Literacy - My First Encounter     The "first meeting" in your new subject is exciting, isn't it?  That feeling when your nervous and excited about your classmates, your teacher, the upcoming lessons, and the things that you can learn from your subject. I also felt that. So, I'm gonna share my new experience in our Media and Information Literacy class.  On our first meeting, our teacher gave us a hashtag #OralCommunication ,  then he told us to bring out our sticky notes because we're going to have an activity, and then he told us to put 1 word that describes each of our classmates and give it to the specific person. special thanks to my classmates! :) The activity was fun because I receive a lot of compliments and I also gave compliments to my classmates too that make them smile. By this activity, we were able to know about how our classmates think of us. It also helps us to know each other more and also strengt
